Chocolate-coated Strawberries

It was a fun weekend. I went to Hannah's birthday party (she is the fine lady in gold, very niiice). Then we had a Valentine's Formal at the house where we ate chocolate-coated strawberries (we also had chocolate coated bananas, which, together with two strawberries on the side, looked very much like a penis), drank cheap champagne, watched our dog Sebestian destroyed valentine bunnies and threw stuff in the fireplace and temporarily not consider the consequences. Everyone's date was adorable, especially mine (and thank you for coming). This one kid's gf however, looked like she was too cool for us so she can go _____ (insert your favorite derogative verb) herself.

Casanova

For the nerds:

If you have seen the movie, i encourage you to read the book. It is about a guy named Christopher abandoning all his possessions and responsibilities in the mundane world and drift to wherever the wind took him. The facts about Christopher presented by the movie were mostly correct, even though the movie directors had omitted certain background information that could be useful in forming your own analysis of Christopher's personality and his inner struggle.

The ultimate goal of his adventure was to live off the wild in Alaska, which he did successfully to a certain extend.

What is special about this book is that it is NOT an autobiography. It is written by Jon Krakauer who read about the story of this boy and went out to do research and eventually wrote this book.

For me, Christopher freedom to the extreme. But when you actually think about what he have achieved by setting himself "free" in the wild, the definition of "freedom" he proclaimed certainly became more controversial. it is true that in the wild he could sleep until the end of time and eat wild berries to his heart's content, but there was no one with whom he could share his stories and keep him company. Is that really the freedom he sought after? I will leave it to you decide whether he is a hero or a moron, and whether his starving to death (oops i spoiled the ending) signifies the triumph of a freedom fighter or stupidity to the extreme.
